I Pledge Allegiance...

I pledge allegiance... to the Flag...

Oh what memories that brings up for me.  As a young child in elementary school, I anxiously awaited for my turn to hold our room's flag while we stood, hand over heart, reciting the words that made me stand a little taller - even if I didn't know exactly why at that time.  When my day came, I was ever so careful not to let that beautiful piece of fabric touch the slightly dusty schoolroom floor.  I was proud.  I could hardly contain my reverence and awe.
